"Ultimately the buck stops with Suzan DelBene, who was appointed to the directorship on Nov. 30, 2010, and who served in that position until Jan. 13 of this year."
Everett, WA - October 22, 2012 - John Koster announced today that his campaign has filed a request for all records related to the Whistleblower Complaint filed by Washington State Department of Revenue employee Dennis Redmon. The Complaint was discussed in an extensive (Oct. 8) article written by the Washington State Wire's lead writer and editor Erik Smith.
Smith broke the story regarding the complaint filed with the State Auditor alleging that "as much as $35 million in taxes have been excused for taxpayers with [political] pull..."; and that a well-connected political contributor known for large political contributions to Governor Gregoire and the Democratic Party among others avoided paying over $2 million in use tax & penalties on a jet aircraft dating back to 2007.
"I agree with Erik Smith, that 'Ultimately the buck stops with Suzan DelBene, who was appointed to the directorship on Nov. 30, 2010, and who served in that position until Jan. 13 of this year'," said John Koster.
"We are going to continue asking questions until we get some answers. Did my opponent Suzan DelBene while Director of WSDOR knowingly give special favors and tax exemptions to political friends?; if not, did this situation come about due to incompetence, mismanagement and/or negligence on her part?"
