July 30, 2012 - Thomas J. Donohue, President and CEO of the United States Chamber of Commerce, wrote the following statement in a letter endorsing John Koster for Congress:
"It is the Chamber's goal to help elect a pro-business majority in Congress and work diligently in support of the interests of businesses large and small to advance legislation that encourages economic growth, job creation, and a less intrusive federal government. Your record of support on pro-business issues earned this endorsement."
"This is truly an honor," John Koster remarked. "I am humbled and thankful that an organization of such importance and stature took note of my legislative record in both the state House and the Snohomish County Council. Without reservation, I will vote, sponsor and promote pro-business legislation that comes before the United States House of Representatives. After seeing the negative impact on businesses over the last four years, I will not hesitate to reverse burdensome legislation and excessive taxation that cripples business and the free market."
In the 2010 election, 236 of the 276 Chamber-endorsed candidates were elected.
