Smith broke the story regarding the complaint filed with the State Auditor alleging that "as much as $35 million in taxes have been excused for taxpayers with [political] pull..."; and that a well-connected political contributor known for large political contributions to Governor Gregoire and the Democratic Party among others avoided paying over $2 million in use tax & penalties on a jet aircraft dating back to 2007.

Everett, WA - October 15, 2012 - A whistleblower (29 year WSDOR employee Dennis Redmon) has filed a formal complaint that points a finger at former director Suzan DelBene and other Washington State Department of Revenue (WSDOR) bureaucrats "for giving special treatment to well-connected taxpayers who can afford to pay."
