Everett, WA - October 15, 2012 - A whistleblower (29 year WSDOR employee Dennis Redmon) has filed a formal complaint that points a finger at former director Suzan DelBene and other Washington State Department of Revenue (WSDOR) bureaucrats "for giving special treatment to well-connected taxpayers who can afford to pay."
Washington State Wire's lead writer and editor Erik Smith broke the story (click here to read full article) on October 8 regarding the complaint filed with the State Auditor alleging that "as much as $35 million in taxes have been excused for taxpayers with [political] pull..."; and that a well-connected political contributor known for large political contributions to Governor Gregoire and the Democratic Party among others avoided paying over $2 million in use tax & penalties on a jet aircraft dating back to 2007.
"If the allegations are true, this is a huge scandal and the height of hypocrisy" said John Koster. "Here we have the former director of the WSDOR running for congress in the middle of this mess whose latest campaign ad says she will make sure that "millionaires pay their fair share."
